Ambient designs surgical video display systems for New England hospitals
June 2007
In their ongoing endeavor to adapt cutting-edge audiovisual technology and design to the healthcare field, Ambient has created a 21st century surgical display system for one of New England's largest hospital networks. Utilizing high-definition, boom-mounted surgical monitors and advanced video matrix switching, Ambient has produced a versatile video system that allows surgeons to see what they want, where they want. In the operating room environment, every second counts. That is why Ambient's system utilizes multiple video displays, including high-resolution 19" surgical monitors as well as UL rated, hospital grade 42" wide-screen LCD's. With Ambient's poly-source technology, doctor's can simultaneously display multiple video images with the touch of a button: endoscopes, fluoroscopes, overhead cameras, patient vitals, C-Arm x-rays, PACS radiological imaging, and more. With the power to place video images on one or all of the monitors in the room, surgeons have the ability to work on any side of the patient they need to, while still being able to see the vital video they require. And, with the addition of digital video recorders and videoconference technology, doctors can capture all aspects of the surgery for later viewing, or for live broadcast to a teaching facility. Ambient's 21st Century surgical display systems give healthcare institutions the competitive edge they need for delivering critical care in the information age!
